THE EXPERIENCE BEHIND
THE CALM COLLAB
The Calm Collab was created by Sophie - from a combination of professional experience, personal insight and a belief that wellbeing support should reflect the realities of high-pressure work.
As a former Registered Nurse and a Registered Paramedic, I have worked across many demanding healthcare environments and understand firsthand the physical, psychological and emotional demands that can accompany high-pressure roles. I also understand that those demands do not always end when the shift does. At times, the work follows you home, into your daily life, sleep, days off and can continue throughout the next block of shifts (and beyond).
Throughout my past experience in healthcare and emergency services, I have seen the importance of supporting not only the professional, but the individual behind the role.
I hold a Bachelor of Nursing with Honours and a Bachelor of Paramedicine alongside a certificate IV in Training and Assessment. I have also completed formal training in Meditation Teaching with Holistic Counselling Skills for Meditation Teachers (Mbe.MedTeach), together with additional education in sound-based practices.
Over the years, I have continued to develop my knowledge and practice through ongoing learning, meditation and sound-based practices and study from respected teachers and facilitators.
Today, I now support current and former healthcare professionals, emergency service workers, first responders, shift workers, students, others working in high-pressure roles, as well as teams and organisations.
My approach is calm, practical, professional, evidence informed and trauma aware, with sessions and resources tailored to the individual, group or workplace and importantly, the realities of high-pressure work.
